Have you ever wondered why some people consistently earn a six figure income while others struggle to make ends meet?
There is no real mystery to it at all. The answer is so simple it is easy to elude us. Let me give you the main reason why some earn six figures and others do not;
"Six figure income earners expect to earn at least that much. Those who fail to earn that don't expect to earn it anyway."
If you want to move into the category of one of those who earns a minimum six figures in personal income, let me offer some suggestions to point you in that path.
1) You must believe it is possible to earn six figures in Insurance sales - Salespeople have a habit of achieving incredible financial success. Your income is not limited. If you turn in 100 applications that become policies and your commission is $1000 per application, you just made six figures.
2) You must expect that if you do what is required, you too will earn six figures - there is a science to success. A positive mental attitude, an expectation of winning, believing in your self and your personal worth are all characteristics you want to embrace. Success is able to be duplicated. Follow the path other successful agents have walked down and chances are you will experience the same results.
3) You must see yourself worthy of at least six figures - sadly, many people accept their lot in life as being a permanent one. It makes no difference where you have come from, what you did or didn't have, what education you received, who your parents were etc. Yes, having support and advantages in life make succeeding easier but nothing is impossible to the person who thinks they can. Instead of looking at what you don't have, focus on what you do. Make your assets work for you.
4) You must plan to earn it - productive activity is the key to increased sales. How much is your average commission on a sale (not the company you work for average; what is your personal average)? How many presentations do you need in order to make a sale? How many calls must you make in order to do a presentation? What does it cost you to make a call (lead cost, gas to go prospecting, etc).
5) You must never, ever, ever quit - period. This is non negotiable. You don't quit until you win. You plan and execute. You get knocked down and you get back up again. You focus on your goal, not your obstacle.
I ran track in high school. My coach told us "the one who wins a race is not the one concerned with the progress of his opponents. Every time you look at what another runner is doing you are taking away from your focus. Pay attention to your strides, your breathing and keep your eye on your goal. Nothing else matters.
